Ashanti and Nelly Welcome Their Baby Boy

The long-awaited arrival of Ashanti and Nelly’s bundle of joy has finally come!

The baby boy, named Kareem Kenkaide Haynes, made his grand entrance July 18, 2024. The story broke exclusively on PEOPLE.com this afternoon.

“The proud and happy parents are so in love with KK!,” a rep for the couple announced to PEOPLE.

Baby Haynes has officially made Ashanti a mom, and Nelly a dad of now three (with son Cornell Haynes III [25] and daughter Chanelle Haynes [30]).

Earlier today, Ashanti shared a candid mirror selfie, celebrating her body and her new “baby, baby, baby, baby, babyyy”.

Ashanti and Nelly’s rekindled love story is one that fans certainly stan! The two first revealed the pregnancy in December 2023, and seemed to have only had good news since. Within months, it was confirmed that the lovers were engaged (later court documents revealed that they actually secretly married at the end of 2023), celebrated multiple lavish baby showers, and it was even revealed that a reality show was in the works.
