Passenger – BritBox

Mystery drama seem like a dime dozen nowadays, especially across the pond in the UK and Europe. But Passenger had us at “starring Wunmi Mosaku.” You might know her from Loki, or Luther or the shelved way too soon. Regardless of where, she commands the screen. Passenger takes us to the fictional town of Chadder Vale, which is steeped in doom, gloom and plenty of mystery for a worthy weekend watch. Although released back in March, it just premiered in October stateside, if you have BritBox via Amazon Prime. It’s the screenwriting debut of actor Andrew Buchan (Broadchurch), and also stars Barry Sloane (Revenge)  David Threlfall (Shameless), and Rowan Robinson (A Haunting in Venice). Did we say Wunmi Mosaku stars as an investigator who always has her eye on the jig? Lock in.—Alvin aqua Blanco

Agatha All Along – Disney+

Yes, you can debate the quality of the projects, specifically the original series put out by the juggernaut, Marvel Studios, following Avengers: Endgame. However, there is no debate that WandaVision is at the top of the list when ranking them. Originally titled Agatha: House of Harkness, before earning its current title, the series picks up after the events of WandaVision and the polarizing Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Wanda Maximoff, aka The Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), is “dead,” and the citizens of Westview, except for the evil witch Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn), are no longer under her hex that had them believing they were in Wanda’s favorite television shows. Now free from the spell, Agatha is on a mission to regain her power and possibly the Darkhold, and she is joined on her quest by fellow witches played by Sasheer Zamata (The Weekend), Debra Jo Rupp (WandaVision), Patti Lupone (American Horror Story), Ali Ahn (The Diplomat), Joe Locke (Heartstopper) and Aubrey Plaza (The White Lotus).

Like in WandaVision, the mystery takes time to unfold, and you will have that “aha moment” when the big reveals and easter eggs are presented.
