Brandy is ready to open up like never before. The Grammy award-winning singer, actress, and icon will release her debut memoir this Fall. Here’s what we know about the memoir.

People shared an exclusive story that Brandy is set to release a memoir about her life, offering fans an intimate look into her journey from small-town beginnings to groundbreaking stardom.

The untitled memoir is set to hit shelves this Fall and it promises to dive into Brandy’s life story, tracing her roots in Mississippi to the meteoric rise that began with her platinum-selling debut album, Brandy, released when she was just 15. The book will also recount her breakout role on the beloved sitcom “Moesha” and her history-making turn as the first Black actress to portray a Disney princess in the 1997 television adaptation of Cinderella.

More than a career retrospective, the memoir promises to explore the challenges and “unimaginable lows” Brandy has faced, including struggles with body image, bullying, love, heartbreak, and the pressures of child stardom. In a statement shared with People, the memoir is described as “a testament to hope, resilience, and the strength needed to make peace with the past.”

Brandy expressed her excitement about sharing her journey in book form, saying, “This memoir is the result of countless hours of reflection, work, and healing. I hope readers will find comfort and inspiration in these pages.”

Recently, Brandy has been celebrating new milestones in her career. In 2024, she starred in A24’s psychological horror The Front Room and reprised her iconic role as Cinderella in Disney+’s Descendants: The Rise of Red.

“It’s such an honor to inspire people,” Brandy reflected on her resounding influence. “Encourage young girls to dream big and go after what you want.”

With her memoir, Brandy hopes to continue inspiring her fans and share a raw and reflective account of her life. The book is now available for preorder and is set to be published by Hanover Square Press.

Brandy’s untitled memoir will be released Oct. 7, 2025. Comment below if you plan to read.
