Here’s Why Lloyd Shaved His Hair Off [WATCH]

R&B artist Lloyd is making headlines after surprising fans as the special guest at Usher’s recent show in Miami, staging the stage with a brand-new look. 

The ‘Tru’ singer’s hair (a head of coils, which he often wore out or in braids, then later transitioned to locs) has been a staple of his public image for decades. Naturally, the crowd seemed shocked to see it shaved, but that shock seemed to turned into admiration after he explained the heartfelt reason behind his decision.

 “Today marks the first day since I shaved my head,” Lloyd shared. “I did it because my aunt is battling cancer, and I want to stand by her and take this journey with her.”

The outpour of support was apparent as fans left comments like, “I can respect that. My sister did it for our mom when we found out she was sick. May she continue to rest in peace,” and, “The reason why he did it was so sincere. Hair grows back.”
