Jennifer Lopez Files For Divorce From Ben Affleck After Two Years Of Marriage

Welp, looks like “Jenny From The Block” is going back on the block with a new divorce.

Jennifer Lopez has officially pulled the plug on her rekindled romance with actor Ben Affleck after 2 years of marriage, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

The documents were filed Tuesday (Aug. 20), and she decided to file pro per, meaning she filed without an attorney. April 26, 2024 is listed as the official date of separation.

Interestingly enough, J-Lo decided to file on the 2-year anniversary of their traditional wedding ceremony in Georgia. Of course, they officially tied the knot a month earlier, on July 16, 2022 in Vegas. But still…ouch.

This was Lopez’s fourth marriage and Affleck’s second.

NO PRENUP?! REALLY?!

A source close to the situation tells TMZ that there is no prenup, meaning that any earnings the former couple made during their union is community property – and there’s plenty of “community property” on both ends.

For instance, Affleck starred in two movies (Air and Hypnotic) and produced The Instigators during the marriage. He also recently wrapped filming The Accountant 2.

Meanwhile, Lopez filmed three traditional movies (Shotgun Wedding, The Mother, and Atlas). She also released an album, This Is Me…Now and shot the accompanying music film for that.

Despite the lack of prenup, Lopez did waive spousal support in the documents and is asking the presiding judge to deny Affleck support as well.

Also, the two do not have to worry about custody hearings since they did not have kids together.

NOT EASY AT ALL

Sources tell TMZ that hashing out the financials hasn’t been easy for the couple.

TMZ previously reported that they put up their marital home in Beverly Hills for sale, with Affleck moving into a new home in the Brentwood neighborhood and Lopez house hunting as well.

The two have been working on a settlement for months, but things are becoming more acrimonious to the point where they haven’t been on speaking terms at times.

With that said, we definitely wish these two the best in the future.
