Kierra Sheard-Kelly Clarifies Controversial “Guts” Social Media Post

Kierra Sheard-Kelly had fans fooled. Last week, the singer posted photos of her family trip to Disney on Instagram with the caption: “#myFamily the joys of being a wife and mother, the whole household has been in my guts! Hooraaaay,” she said. For good measure, she tagged her husband Jordan Kelly in the post.

At first glance, some fans felt she was sharing a little too much information on social media.

“Gospel or not, this is a lot to say, but ok sis live in your truth,” commented one fan.

Others encouraged folks to lighten up as Sheard-Kelly is a married woman after all.

“I love this so much for you,” another fan shared. “Saints, lighten up and live a little. She’s happily married. We should all want our husbands to be in our guts.”

Well, Sheard-Kelly recently turned it around and shared an acronym for “guts” that means “God’s Up to Something.” Over the weekend, she followed up her controversial Disney post with a post about a new song aptly called “GUTS.”

“I be running my mouth because I know whose I am,” she sings. “Try to keep up if you don’t understand. I don’t answer to nothing that don’t come from my Father. It’s never good enough for them, then why should I bother. All it’s going to do is lead me to acting up. I don’t want to fight you because I’m covered by the blood. I know He’s guiding me. Redirect my energy. So, if I fall or if my back’s against the wall, as long as I know God’s always up to something. Don’t understand what it does, but I know it’s something.”

Sheard-Kelly really had fans taken aback by her original post because now her Instagram comments are flooded with realizations and messages of support.

“Hahaha so this was the GUTS you were talking about lol love it,” said one fan.

“The way I hollered. I’m all here for it. Love it! You better be married honey,” commented another.

“GUTS” has yet to be released on any music platforms. But one thing is for sure, Sheard-Kelly knows how to create controversy and spin it to work in her favor.
