Lola Brooke Reveals Her Worst Habit & Promotes VMAs at Brooklyn Block Party

resh off dropping a dope single “No One Else” with Jeremi, Lola Brooke stopped by the VMA Block Party in Brooklyn, New York Sunday to promote the VMAs iconic night and perform her single for the first time before a live audience.  Radio/TV personality Jazmyn Summers caught up with the diminutive rapper.

“I feel it’s lover girl season,” Brooke shared.  “It’s getting cold and you gonna need somebody to find and cuddle with. It was only right that I hit up Jeremi to come outside.   We have to cuff up.  The holidays is coming and we gonna want some good gifts,” she joked.

Brooke revealed she’s currently single but warned against sliding up in her DMs, “ You will be ignored.  If you’re interested, come correct. Come with respect.”

Brooke, who proudly represents Brooklyn, told the crowd she was a  “shelter kid.”

“When I was in the shelter with my mom, I was a baby” she shared with Radio One. “ I don’t remember too much of the experience but the pictures that she has I can still feel it.  I can feel that my mom went through a lotta of struggles to get where we are right now.  What I would say to kids in the shelter is don’t give up. It may be hard but you can win. Grow and don’t be afraid to grow.”

Brooke was joined by up-and-coming Nigerian rapper and afro-beat star Jordan Adetunji who performed his hit single with Kehlani who he named the song after.

“I like to mix and blend different genres I love the most.  I love Afro beats, R&B, and rap. I fuse it into one”

Reality star and artist Chanel West brought her model boyfriend Dom Fenison and daughte to the party and gushed about the VMAs.

“The VMAs is known for the crazy moments like the moment with Kanye and Taylor or with Jay Z and lil Mama.   There’s always a crazy moment and I love to see what the crazy moment is going to be.”

West’s new album “A California State of Mind” Is out now.

“Its been a long time in the making.  A lot more singing.  A lot more pop and rock influence but still hip hop and still rapping.  It’s a culmination of all the genres of music I love and want.”

Just for fun, we asked the artists about their worst habits.

“My bad habit is overthinking things.  I’m a Aquarius so I overthink a lot.  That’s why I do music so I could dim it down a little bit,” Brooke revealed. .

“I like to sleep a lot.  I’m like a sloth.  I sleep all day – 24 hours,” admitted  Adetunji.

The VMAs will air live Wednesday, September 11th on MTV at 8pm EST hosted by  Megan Thee Stallion who will make a triumphant return to the MTV stage, adding performer to her role of show host with an unforgettable performance

Katy Perry will receive the Video Vanguard Award.  Other artists performing include LL Cool J , Lenny Kravitz and GloRilla.
