There are a million things we love about Morris Chestnut. He’s talented, articulate, chocolate, and as fine as ever. Although we often swoon about his gorgeousness, we all admire that he has been married to a stunning Black woman for over twenty years. To say the least, that is a remarkable feat for a couple where one-half of the pair has a job in an industry that is demanding and risky. However, Morris Chestnut and his wife Pam Byse have held their union down, and in an interview with Gayle King, they reveal their secrets to staying together.

In a video posted on Oprah Daily, Chestnut and his wife look adorable as they discuss the details of their long love affair. Before they shared the tea, Gayle King revealed that the “Best Man” alum had the number of years he and Byse had been married correctly, and Byse had it wrong. But instead of rubbing it in her face, Chestnut gave her a sweet kiss on the jaw and brushed it off (we just love him).

The first secret the couple shared regarding their long-term relationship was, “Don’t say anything you can’t take back when you argue.” Chestnut expounded on this by saying that he and his wife are “genuinely good people” and that they don’t go low when they disagree. The second secret was, “Acknowledge each other’s roles.” Byse explained that Chestnut was a good leader.

The other secrets the couple shared included allowing the kids to balance them and being each other’s best friend. Followers jumped in the comments to praise the couple on their chemistry and beautiful union. “Beautiful couple both inside and out ,” commented one fan.
