“I’m on go like Grizz / She thought I would kiss her ass, she must ain’t took her meds,” Latto boldly raps on her 2023 Cardi B-assisted hit single, “Put It on da Floor Again.” Most paid more attention to the latter part of that line, which is widely recognized as a diss towards Nicki Minaj, but the “grizz” in the first part was a clever nod as well to the song’s producer, Go Grizzly.

The ATL-hailing mixmaster joined us this week for “My First Time” to give us the brief tale behind the making of what would be his breakout hit as a producer. Ironically enough, his mind was more in daddy mode when the song was being put together being that it all happened shortly after the birth of his son — shoutout to young Royal! Of course, hard work is what pays for the diapers and let’s just say it was a good pay day for poppa when it came to the platinum-selling production of “Put It on da Floor Again.”
