An icon in the world of Black Hollywood, Ralph Carter became a household name through roles like Mike Evans in the classic TV series Good Times and as part of the original 1973 Broadway cast of Raisin playing Travis Younger.

That’s why we were thrilled to run into him a few months back during the 2024 Fantastic Voyage, one of the first times since the Good Times 50: Still Golden celebration that aired back in February on TV One.

Thankfully he was down to share a quick “My First Time” story with us without breaking a sweat or stride from his seaside siesta, and of course he took it back to where things began for him on the stage. Who would’ve thought that a role as Prince Charming in a grade school production of Cinderella during his early years would lead to such greatness!
