Lebron James (39) and Bronny James Jr. (20) made history Tuesday night as the NBA’s first-ever father-son duo to play together—not just in the same arena, but on the same team!
The pair was seen engaging in what seemed to be a pre-game pep talk before approaching the scorer’s table and hitting the court. This home opener was the start of James’ record-tying (with Vince Carter) 22nd season.
“That moment, us being at the scorer’s table together and checking in together, it’s a moment I’m never going to forget,” LeBron said. “No matter how old I get, no matter how my memory may fade as I get older or whatever, I will never forget that moment.” –Lebron James
Support from the audience included the entire James household (Savannah, Bryce, and Zhuri), and Ken Griffey Sr. and his son Ken Griffey Jr.—the first father-son duo to play together in the MLB.

“(I) tried not to focus on everything that’s going on around me, and tried to focus on going in as a rookie and not trying to mess up,” Bronny said. “But yeah, I totally did feel the energy, and I appreciate Laker Nation for showing the support for me and my dad.” –Bronny James Jr.
Nike chimed in on the anticipation around the monumental event with a new commercial, released just hours before the game.
