Netflix just dropped the news that its hit series “Supacell” is coming back for a second season. If you missed the first season, catch you up. Read more details about the series return inside.
Season 1 hit the streaming platform on June 27 and quickly became a must-watch. The Guardian even called it “strikingly performed, bracingly plotted,” putting its characters on the same level as some of TV’s biggest shows. Well, they weren’t lying because Season 1 snagged the top spot on Netflix’s global TV series list, remained in the Top 10 for six weeks, and held it down in the Top 10 in 91 countries. That’s a major flex.
Creator Rapman, who’s been making waves with his storytelling, says Season 2 is where things really take off.
“For me, Season 1 was always an origin story. Season 2 is when the journey really begins. Season 1 was my Batman Begins, Season 2 is my Dark Knight,” he shared in a statement.

So, if you thought the first season was wild, just wait until you see what’s next.
For those who haven’t caught up yet, “Supacell” follows five ordinary Black South Londoners who suddenly find themselves with superpowers. They have nothing in common except where they’re from, but one man, Michael Lasaki, has to bring them together to save the woman he loves. It’s a superhero story with a unique twist, bringing the magic of South London to the screen in a way that feels fresh and authentic.
With Rapman hinting that Season 2 is going to be even bigger and better, there’s no doubt that “Supacell” is about to level up. If you haven’t seen it yet, now’s the time to catch up before the next chapter drops. Trust, this is one show you won’t want to miss.
