Sexyy Red is starting the new year with a new look – but it may not be the look you think. The rapper, born Janae Nierah Wherry, revealed she recently had a breast augmentation.

She shared the news and photos of her journey on social media.

On January 9, she posted a mirror selfie on X (formerly Twitter). In the photo, she’s at a doctor’s office with a medical assistant flashing a peace sign. She wrote, “Didn’t want small no more, I’m going back big.”

 

Despite the “going big” comment, reports say the surgery wasn’t about size alone. According to TMZ, Sexyy was dealing with back pain and clothing issues. The outlet reports that its sources say, “She’s not going huge with her new chest … she’s undergoing surgery because her breasts are causing way too many problems — including back pain and ruining the fit of her clothes.”

The next day, on January 10, Sexyy followed up with fans in her Instagram Stories and on X, tagging her surgeon, Dr. Marcelo Ghersi. She expressed her excitement, writing, “My chest looks soooo much better thank you soooo much.” She also shared a video showing her post-op look in a recovery bra, with parts of her chest still covered in medical tape.

TMZ reported that Sexyy is like many of us this time of year: focusing on ourselves. The outlet reports that their sources say her single status gives her more time for personal care.

“Sexyy Red’s heading into the new year single,” TMZ reports a source. “So, she’s finally got time for handling all of her personal care — and, that includes a breast augmentation.”
