Our Favorite Moments From the Cash Money & No Limit Tour

Houston officially kicked off the Cash Money & No Limit Tour on Sept. 11, 2026, bringing two of Southern Hip-Hop’s most legendary crews together for a night that once seemed almost impossible.

Cash Money and No Limit helped define an era while representing opposite sides of one of the South’s biggest rap rivalries in the late ’90s and early 2000s. Decades later, that rivalry was put to the side as both camps joined forces for a tour celebrating the music, history and impact they created.

97.9 The Box played a major role in building the energy around the Houston kickoff long before the lights went down. From exclusive interviews and ticket giveaways to weeks of content celebrating both labels, The Box helped get the city ready for the historic night.

Our own DJ J-Que was also selected as the official tour ambassador for the Houston stop, putting 97.9 right in the middle of one of the biggest Southern Hip-Hop events of the year.

Some of our favorite moments actually started before the concert. We got the opportunity to sit down with Master P, Juvenile and Mannie Fresh for conversations about the tour, their legendary catalogs and the history of Southern rap.

Then there was our Camo Contest winner, who took home $1,000, four VIP suite tickets and the chance to meet Master P.

Once the show started, Boosie brought another level of energy, rocking a packed crowd and looking like he was having more fun than anybody in the building.

And then there was the music.

Hearing those classic No Limit anthems performed live with thousands of Houston fans rapping along was a reminder of just how much these records still mean decades later.

But one of the biggest highlights for us was getting to kick it backstage with both the Cash Money and No Limit camps, seeing two crews that once stood on opposite sides of a historic rivalry now sharing the same stage and celebrating what they built.

For 97.9 The Box, the Houston kickoff wasn’t just another concert. It was Southern Hip-Hop history happening in our backyard.
