Rick Ross Claps Back At Freeway Rick Ross After Insulting His Nickname

Rick Ross and Freeway Rick Ross are seemingly bumping heads again. The rapper has clapped back at the former trapper after he insulted his nickname.

As per HipHopDX, the one-time drug lord recently went viral and it seems to have happened by accident. Last week, he was in New York City for the Gervonta Davis versus Lamont Roach boxing match. Blogger Peaks100 spotted boxer Ra-leek Born, who introduced him to his business manager Freeway Rick Ross. The YouTuber personality asked him, “You the real Ricky Rozay?” (one of the rapper’s many monikers) to which Freeway responded “Real Ross…Rozay sound gay.”

2Cool2Blog shared out the clip and it quickly went viral eventually landing on the “Mafia Music” MC’s radar. Rozay left a comment that not only mocked Freeway Rick but also alleged that he worked with the federal government to get his sentence reduced. “The gangsta informant [laughing emoji] still lerks @freewayricky !! Go put on a suit peon,” he wrote.

For those not in the know, Freeway Rick Ross was a key figure in the 1980’s crack boom. At his peak he is alleged to have sold several tons of cocaine with an estimated revenue of $900 million. In 1996, he was sentenced to life for purchasing drugs from a federal agent. During his bid he learned to read, studied law and eventually encountered a legal loophole that reduced his sentence to 20 years. He was eventually released in 2009.

Soon after gaining his freedom he filed a lawsuit against the rapper Rick Ross for trademark infringement. He claimed that the musician was using his legacy to further his career. In 2014, a judge tossed out the case.
