This year’s Stellar Awards had a lot of “wow” moments including everything from the high-energy Tye Tribbett tribute performance at the main show to insightful conversation off stage at StellarPlus panels (see below!). One of the newest offerings, though, was the StellarPlus AfroBeats Day Party.
The Stellars’ inaugural Afrobeats Day Party, hosted by Willie Moore Jr., DJ Dwight Stone and Jor’Dan Armstrong, featured performances by Aaron Cole, Mike Teezy, Anike (formerly known as Wande), Lee Vasi, and Adia. It was young, fresh and vibey – the first of its kind at the Stellar Awards. As they strive to be inclusive of a younger generation of Christian and Gospel music consumers, this event showcased the diverse talent of that next wave of artists sure to leave their mark in history.
Elev8 correspondent Jeff Lewis was on site catching up with a few of the performers who shared what’s happening in their world. If you missed our live social media recap during awards week, here’s what you missed:
Aaron Cole on the changes he made for Christ:
Anike on getting back to her spiritual roots:
