Tinashe — Quantum Baby

More than 10 years into her music career, Tinashe continues to make some of her biggest waves. Her “Nasty” single, for instance, has become one of the year’s most talked-about tracks and it continues to rise in popularity. Now, the independent hit-maker follows that success up with another project, Quantum Baby.

It’s the second installment of a trilogy following last year’s BB/Ang3l. “Like the Quantum Paradox, at my deepest, most essential core level are so many mysteries and contradictions,” Tinashe recently tweeted. “Bridging the gap between confidence and vulnerability is the human experience and my favorite kind of art.”

But this album also highlights an important evolution in creative freedom. “I’ve been really lucky since leaving my major label, going independent, being able to focus on whatever I want to make creatively,” she told AP. “And I’ve really honed that process over the last three albums. This second part of the trilogy is really focused on getting to know me a little bit deeper.”

Big Sean & The Alchemist — “Together Forever”

Big Sean is gearing up to release his forthcoming album Better Me Than You. But before he unleashes the new body of work, the Detroit spitter links up with The Alchemist for his newest single, “Together Forever.”

Over ALC and DJ Khalil’s production, Sean breaks into a bar-filled showcase. “Kicked down the door and made me a master key / For all the dogs that’s coming in after me,” he raps over hard-hitting drums. “I’m with The Alchemist, cookin’ up alchemy.”

Sean and Al also connect in the song’s music video. While the entire visual features collaborative energy and a love for nature, the clip’s surprise comes at the ending. That’s when Sean and Al pop up once again in what seems like a new song preview. “Who gon’ hold it down, 4th down? That’s the kicker,” Sean raps in the snippet. “Either change your mainframe or they’ll take you out the picture.”

“Together Forever” could very well join previously-released singles “On Up” and “Yes” on Sean’s upcoming album Better Me Than You. Sean recently explained the LP in a social media video. “First of all, I was under a lot of pressure,” he says in the video. “But going through that pressure led to clarity, which led to me being able to focus on happiness and living in that happiness briefly, and then going right back to the pressure.”

Coco Jones — “Sweep It Up”

Coco Jones asked fans to get their brooms ready before releasing her newest single, “Sweep It Up.” Now, the hit-making singer is dropping the highly-anticipated anthem with some help from her supporters.

The breakout R&B star continues her penchant for infectious singles here. “If you can’t keep up and break my heart to pieces, somebody else gon’ sweep it up,” she sings. “If you can’t keep up…Sweep it up / Better clean this up.”

Coco also dropped a fun new visualizer for the track. The clip works almost as well as a music video even though it’s labeled as a visualizer. Joined by a few friends, Coco buys a few brooms, meets up with her fans, and does the “Sweep It Up” dance in New York.

Jones is coming off a super successful 2022 and 2023 run. After releasing her What I Didn’t Tell You project, her song “ICU” catapulted into platinum status. Earlier this year, she also released the song “Here We Go (Uh Oh).”

Drake — 100 GIGS

Drake recently surprised his fans with an onslaught of new music and old footage. All together, he reportedly unleashed 100 gigabytes of material, including three new songs that are now available for streaming under the 100 GIGS banner.

Drizzy nabs some big features for this project. Young Thug and 21 Savage pop up on “It’s Up” while Latto pulls up for “Housekeeping Knows.” Drake also shouts one of his collaborators out on the aforementioned “It’s Up” track.

“I can’t sleep at night with Thug at Cobb County Corrections / I think he did enough reflectin’ / I think my brother learned his lesson,” Drake raps on the cut.

It’s unclear whether these songs are part of a larger album as of now. But they all appeared through the aforementioned 100 Gigs drop alongside archival behind-the-scenes footage that is available online.
