It’s 2025, and The Jennifer Hudson Show is back for another exciting year filled with captivating guest interviews and more iconic spirit tunnel moments – our favorite part of the show. This January, Hudson and her team have welcomed a dazzling array of actors and musicians, including The Agency star Jodie Turner-Smith and singer Lalah Hathaway, to name just a few. Here are some of our favorite spirit tunnel highlights from January.
On Jan. 9, actress Jodie Turner-Smith appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show to discuss her Glamour UK Women of the Year award, her daughter’s love for Wicked, her bold fashion choices, and her role alongside Richard Gere in The Agency. Before diving into the conversation, Turner-Smith made a grand entrance through the spirit tunnel, donning a striped crop top and oversized pants adorned with dramatic tassels. With her short faux locs and a playful sway of her hips, she fed off the energy of Hudson’s staff, bringing an extra spark to the moment.
The Lion King: Mufasa star Aaron Pierre set the internet ablaze with his irresistible dance moves backstage during his Jan. 6 appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. For his viral spirit tunnel moment, Pierre, 30, kicked things off with a playful shimmy, swaying his hips to the rhythm while flashing a confident smirk straight into the camera, as the Jennifer Hudson Show team cheered him on, chanting, “Aaron Pierre, That’s Mufasa!” in sync with his energy. The Hollywood heartthrob wrapped up his impromptu performance with a smooth twirl and a charming dip before laughing and strutting off-camera, leaving viewers swooning.
On Jan. 14, singer and songwriter Lalah Hathaway stopped by to talk about her latest album, VANTABLACK, and her collaborations with incredible artists like Common. Before joining Hudson on the couch, Hathaway brought her vibrant energy to the spirit tunnel, nodding her head and grooving along with Hudson’s staff as they danced together. She made sure to turn heads, rocking a maroon leather jacket, PVC pants, and a bold mullet, making her entrance as unforgettable as her performance.
Abbott Elementary star Chris Perfetti showed off his impressive dance moves during his appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Jan. 15. Dressed in a colorful jacket and pants, Perfetti dropped low to the floor, swaying from side to side, before popping back up to rock out with Hudson and her crew, showcasing his fun and spontaneous spirit.
On Jan.11, Squid Game star Lee Jung-Jae may have been a bit shy, but that didn’t stop him from making a memorable entrance through the spirit tunnel. There to discuss Season 2 of the hit Netflix show, the actor confidently waved and raised the roof as he strutted through with pride. Looking sharp in a gray suit and colorful scarf, Jung-Jae made a stylish debut that matched his star power.
O’Shea Jackson Jr.’s swag was on a hundred thousand trillion upon entering the spirit tunnel during his Jan. 8 appearance on the talk show where he reflected on his breakout role in Straight Outta Compton. The actor rocked a dapper black peacoat and an icy diamond chain for some added flare as he walked and bounced through Hudson’s energetic dance circle.
