When two Black women icons like Tina Knowles and Michelle Obama link up, we already know it will be epic. But no one was quite ready for the moment that had the crowd on their feet and social media buzzing.

At the kickoff of Tina’s Matriarch book tour in Washington D.C., the powerhouse duo closed the night with a surprise dance to 803Fresh’s viral hit “Boots on the Ground.”

And yes, they had the moves.

“Tina wanted to go out on one of her favorite songs. So, folks, let’s hit it!” our forever FLOTUS said to the crowd.

Michelle served a smooth two-step in a tailored black satin Alexander McQueen suit with strong lapels, stacks of rings, and disco-ball earrings by Yvonne Léon. Her bright green nails added a playful pop—pure Brat Summer energy.

Tina, meanwhile, sparkled in a half-sequined, half-draped black dress with sheer gloves and oversized earrings. She kept it classy and cool, grooving side to side with the confidence only a Knowles matriarch can serve.
