Wendy Williams answers questions before a live audience at The Fillmore
The Washington Post

So much has been said in regards to Wendy Williams and the state of her mental health over the past few years, yet rarely has the record been set in her own words. Well, 2025 seems to be ushering in a new era for the former daytime queen as it appears she’s currently on a press run this week!

You might hear Wendy speak on a few other major media platforms in the coming days, but her latest one-on-one chat with Don Lemon stands out for being completely candid and, well, unfiltered from all angles.

Although their conversation is cut short due to tech difficulties and scheduling conflicts on both ends, Williams can be heard quite clearly throughout and even flashes quips of her signature personality that fans know and love — it’s a bit of a far cry from the “incapacitated” health status that her conservator wanted many to believe back in November. Granted, there are a handful of moments during the talk that make you scratch your head — her excessive use of “Look…” and “You know what I’m saying?” felt a bit off — but nowhere does she appear to be unable of forming words.

“I’m not in a good position,” she tells Don in reference to her conservatorship, also adding, “this guardian person will make sure that — look, my life is screwed up. This guardian mess is — please, look: I am isolated, I feel like I’m in prison, I feel like, you know, they’re trying to control me, you know what I’m saying? Everything that I do, you know what I’m saying? If I chew, they give me….they don’t even — look, look. My life is screwed up, you know what I’m saying? The only thing I can do for myself is I keep myself of sound, mind and body…you know what I’m saying?”

Listen below and be the judge yourself. As always, we’re hoping for the best when it comes to Wendy Williams’ well-being.
